Smart Rx Manager is an integral component of the TraceLink solution, designed to facilitate compliance with the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (EU FMD), effective from February 2019. This tool is exclusively available to existing TraceLink customers.

Pharmacies, hospitals, and dispensing doctors across the European Union are required to adhere to the stipulations of the EU FMD, which mandates that all prescription medicine packs feature new 2D barcodes that must be scanned prior to dispensing.

As part of TraceLink's offerings, Smart Rx Manager presents a flexible and cost-effective solution. The TraceLink network already comprises over 280,000 connections with healthcare providers, reflecting its extensive reach within the industry.

Smart Rx Manager seamlessly integrates with your existing NVMS, ensuring immediate validation of scans against the EU Hub. This capability provides rapid notification in instances where a pack is deemed invalid, thereby enabling healthcare providers to maintain a fast, safe, and efficient service for patients.

The application utilizes your device's camera for scanning the required 2D barcodes and offers compatibility with wireless Bluetooth scanners for enhanced versatility in verifying or decommissioning prescription medications. Additionally, comprehensive reporting features allow users to review scan data and monitor the status of medicines, including insights on expiration timelines.
